Your current smile is much better than you think
I know the photos are poor quality, that they are not positioned properly, and that the angle is a disaster. They were not taken to advertise the practice or the teeth; they were recorded as part of the working process.
▫️And honestly, I came across a picture of the teeth before the work, and out of 40,000 pictures on my phone I made the effort to find this one too, which roughly shows how it turned out in the end. And I wanted to show you: however critical you think the situation in your mouth is, dentistry as a science has advanced so far that it is never as bad as how well it can be done in the end. So that you end up delighted with the function, the firmness and the aesthetics.
▫️Start from how many beautiful teeth you see around you. White, shiny, glamorous…. and you do not ask yourself what lies underneath, or which trick the dentist used to make them knock you off your feet. It is in our nature to think we are the worst and the only ones; shame and guilt come inseparably with that, we fall into depressive states, we postpone appointments at the dentist, we go around with our life turned upside down. Why? Because we think others are better off and we are afraid of being judged. So it is easier for us to hide, to put a hand over our mouth, or not to smile at all.
▫️And this is faaaar from the hardest situation I have come across; in fact it is not even that bad, it is just that you think it is, and you wrongly use it as a brake on your life.
▫️ To make my point…. I truly feel sorry when you sit in the chair full of shame and fear of my opinion. Mine, or anyone's, should be so unimportant to you; the only focus you need then is yourself and your big decision to do an enormous thing for your health, your confidence, your smile as the fastest-acting medicine, for the quality of your life and the joy of everyone who cares about you.
▫️By the way, if you really want to know how I feel when I see a neglected or difficult situation in a patient's mouth… no, I do not judge. I can see a thousand reasons that led you there and every one of them is valid. But I do not think about that; I concentrate on the work itself and secretly look forward to the extreme change that is guaranteed to make at least two lives more beautiful. Yours and mine.
